New York-Native Singer, Songwriter, and Pianist Neil Sedaka Passes Away, Aged 86

Neil Sedaka, a New York-native singer, songwriter, and pianist, has passed away at the age of 86.

Beginning his music career in 1957, he sold millions of records worldwide and wrote or co-wrote over 500 songs for himself and other artists, collaborating mostly with lyricists Howard “Howie” Greenfield and Phil Cody.

“Our family is devastated by the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Neil Sedaka,” his family said in a statement. “A true rock and roll legend, an inspiration to millions, but most importantly, at least to those of us who were lucky enough to know him, an incredible human being who will be deeply missed.”…
