AT least one of the two suspicious devices lit and thrown at a protest outside Gracie Mansion was a bomb, the New York Police Department has confirmed.
While Mayor Zohran Mamdani was inside his official Upper East Side residence at the time, neither he nor first lady Rama Duwaji were harmed.
“The NYPD Bomb Squad has conducted a preliminary analysis of a device that was ignited and deployed at a protest yesterday and has determined that it is not a hoax device or a smoke bomb,” said NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
