The deadly shooting of Steven Sanchez remains under investigation by the Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability.
At 1:22 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, two uniformed Jersey City officers were traveling southbound on JFK Blvd.) in a marked police vehicle while Jersey City Police Sgt. Ricardo Reyes was traveling northbound in a separate marked police vehicle, the Attorney General’s office said.
Reyes then made a U-turn, saying to investigators he did so to determine if someone had shot at his vehicle, authorities said. A witness pointed out to Reyes an individual, later identified as Steven Sanchez, walking southbound as the person who had shot at his police vehicle, authorities said…
