Major construction project to affect Manhattan-Brooklyn traffic: details

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Motorists who normally drive into the city during the weekend may have some travel headaches to contend with.

The Hugh L. Carey Tunnel will undergo repaving for the next couple of weekends, starting on the night of July 24, the MTA announced on Thursday.

During the road work, one of the two tubes will be closed starting on Friday at 11 p.m before reopening on Monday at 5 a.m. The remaining tube will have a two-way traffic operation in effect.
