NEW YORK (PIX11) — Ahead of the threat of flooding in the coming days, widely isolated severe storms developed close to the city in the afternoon and may brush the five boroughs.
NE New Jersey, Lower Hudson Valley
The severe thunderstorm warning that was in effect for Bergen, Rockland and Westchester was cancelled.

The storm was producing a lot of rain, so a flash flood warning has been issued for the same thunderstorm and expires at 8:45 p.m.
The National Weather Service says that the storm could bring rainfall rates between one and two inches per hour. Flash flooding is to be expected as a result.
A severe thunderstorm did develop to the west of that cluster, so a warning has been issued through 7:15 p.m. for Passaic and Bergen Counties…
