The Bayonne City Council is contemplating authorizing an agreement with the Secaucus-based Hudson Regional Health Commission for health education and community outreach for $80,000, which will receive a vote next week.
At yesterday’s caucus meeting, Director of Municipal Services Jan Patrick Egan explained the gist of the resolution to the governing body and general public at the request of Council President Melissa Godesky-Rodriguez.
“The Hudson Regional Health Commission is a group of municipalities and … we pay dues to it and it offers a lot of services,” Egan said.
“It’s not part of the county government, but it’s a county organization. It offers a ton of services to the various municipalities and what this is, is various municipalities across New Jersey have been awarded funds from what’s known as the New Jersey Opioid Settlement.”…
