A class action lawsuit alleges that the Jersey City government failed to pay its employees overtime pay for the past seven years.
The suit, filed in Hudson County Superior Court on Sept. 3, accuses the city of failing to pay overtime to employees who worked more than 40 hours a week since June 25, 2019. It also alleges that a collective negotiations agreement violated the statutory rights of the plaintiffs under the New Jersey Wage and Hour Law.
