A former controller at a Newark family-owned business will spend three years in state prison for stealing more than $200,000 from the company, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office announced.
Mark Malinosky, 60, of Tucson, Arizona, pleaded guilty to second-degree theft, second-degree computer theft and second-degree financial facilitation of criminal activity. He worked at M Eagle Tools Warehouse in Newark from September 2018 until April 2024, where he oversaw accounting and payroll functions.
The company fired Malinosky after discovering he had used a credit card belonging to a retired company owner to pay college tuition for his daughters in Arizona.
