Bristol Myers Squibb filed a New Jersey layoff notice covering 265 workers from December 17, with Prudential at 125 and Novo Nordisk at 108

New Jersey’s WARN archive does not print the day a notice was filed. Its columns are company, city, month posted, effective date and workforce affected, and the September rows include three large ones: Bristol Myers Squibb in Princeton at 265, Prudential Insurance in Newark at 125 and Novo Nordisk in Plainsboro at 108. Bristol Myers Squibb’s separations start on December 17, 2026, and run in phases to May 21, 2027.

Each of those rows is a notice covering a group of workers, not a count of people who have lost jobs, and the three are laid out on very different calendars.

Three rows, three calendars

The state Department of Labor and Workforce Development’s 2026 WARN notice archive lists the Bristol Myers Squibb Princeton entry as posted in September, with an effective date range of 12/17/26 to 5/21/27 and 265 workers affected. That range spans 155 days, so no single date accounts for all 265. The Prudential Insurance Company of America row, for Newark, is posted in September with effective dates of 11/28/26 to 12/31/26 and 125 workers, a window of 33 days that opens two days after Thanksgiving. Novo Nordisk’s Plainsboro row has one date, 12/31/26, and 108 workers.

Put together, the September rows front-load the end of the year. Prudential and Novo Nordisk finish on December 31, and Bristol Myers Squibb is the only one of the three whose separations run into 2027.

Two companies, three notices each

The same archive shows the Princeton filing is not the first from Bristol Myers Squibb this year. A February entry for Lawrence Township lists seven separation dates, 5/21/26, 6/19/26, 7/16/26, 7/31/26, 10/23/26, 12/17/26 and 12/31/26, with 247 workers. An April entry for Lawrence Township covers 206 workers with separations from 7/16/26 to 12/31/26. The September Princeton entry is the third. Prudential has three as well: 53 workers in May with a 7/17/26 date, 89 in July with 9/18/26, and the 125 in September…
