Man Shot & Killed in West Orange

WEST ORANGE, NJ — According to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and West Orange Police Chief James Abbott, “The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the fatal shooting of an adult male.”

They reported that on February 4, at 12:22 p.m., West Orange police responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of Lakeside Avenue in West Orange. Officers found the victim at that location suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:44 p.m.

Police shared, “The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to contact Essex County. Calls will be kept confidential.”
