BLOOMFIELD, NJ— The Bloomfield Fire Department is currently operating on the scene of 619 Bloomfield Avenue in Bloomfield for a structure fire. The call came in just past 1230 p.m.
In addition to Bloomfield, Belleville and Nutley also supplied mutual aid on the fire scene.
619 Bloomfield Avenue is the home of Apna Punjab Indian Restaurant.
A firefighter on scene stated that the fire was located in the roof area and was now under control. The ladder trucks were extended to the roof and saws were heard in operation from the roof area.
Bloomfield Avenue remained closed between Broad Street and Liberty Street as of 130 p.m.
There were no reported injuries to fire personnel or occupants of 619 Bloomfield Avenue.
