NYPD releases photo of mystery person in scramble to solve case of abandoned baby girl stuffed in tote bag

New NYPD video shows the mysterious masked person who authorities believe abandoned a newborn baby girl stuffed inside a tote bag in front of a Bronx apartment building.

The footage, released early Monday, shows the unidentified person walking on the rain-drenched Morrisania sidewalk Sunday morning with a hood pulled up over his or her head, wearing a black face mask and carrying a green tote bag.

The infant, who appears to be only a few days old — and was swaddled in blankets inside the tote bag — was dumped outside a building on Reverend James Polite Ave. near East 167th Street around 6 a.m., cops said.
