After Key Bridge collapse, Johns Hopkins study identifies two NJ bridges at risk of collision

After the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore last year, a group of researchers from Johns Hopkins University conducted a study to determine which other major U.S. bridges are vulnerable to collisions.

After analyzing and cross-referencing millions of data points from the National Bridge Inventory and the U.S. Coast Guard, the study concluded that at least 20 bridges in the country are at an elevated risk for collision, including two in New Jersey.

The Bayonne Bridge connecting New York and New Jersey, and the Delaware Memorial Bridge between Delaware and New Jersey, are among the most vulnerable bridges in the country…
