2 from N.J. charged in smash-and-grab $1.7M jewelry heist

A pair of Essex County men have been charged in connection with a jewelry store robbery in Westchester County, New York, using sledgehammers, officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said.

Kevin Williams, 26, and Byron Wilson, 24, both of Irvington, were charged with conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery and Hobbs Act robbery.

Investigators said that Williams and Wilson, along with co-conspirators, arrived at a jewelry store at the Westchester Square Shopping Plaza in Hartsdale, New York, at 11:07 a.m. Dec. 16, 2024, in a stolen car with stolen New Jersey license plates…
