Police chase ends in arrest at local hospital

MONROE CO. (WOLF) — A high-speed chase through Pocono Township ended with the arrest of a 23-year-old New Jersey man after he sought medical attention for injuries sustained during the pursuit.

The alleged incident began around 1:30 a.m. on March 21, when a Pocono Township police officer observed a vehicle code violation and discovered the vehicle’s owner had an outstanding arrest warrant from Union County, New Jersey, for fleeing and eluding police.

The driver, identified as Mohamed Abdelaal from Iselin, New Jersey, reportedly failed to yield, leading officers on a 26-mile high-speed chase. The pursuit ended at the entrance to Pocono Country Place, where Abdelaal abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot into a heavily wooded area…
