Newark Airport Going Through Rough Time on Memorial Day Weekend

The last month or so has been a rocky one for Newark Airport, for a number of reasons.

Beginning in late April, the New Jersey facility, which is the second-largest airport in the New York area, began experiencing widespread delays and cancelations due to understaffing, air traffic equipment failures and the shutdown of a major runway for construction.

The lingering crisis led to the FAA announcing a plan to limit air traffic in and out of Newark in the coming weeks, reducing the number of flights to a more manageable level. These restrictions will be in place until at least June 15…
