Critical clothing rule to follow as New York City area hit with heat advisory

Residents of the greater New York City area have been warned that oppressive heat will persist for the next two days.

The National Weather Service issued a 48-hour heat advisory on Tuesday evening ahead of the heatwave, which will span across New York City and several surrounding counties, including Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Westchester, Suffolk and Nassau.

Meteorologists have warned that the brutal combination of “hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.”…
