14-year-old boy drowns in N.J. lake, officials said

A 14-year-old boy drowned in a state park lake Saturday afternoon, officials said.

The state Department of Environmental Protection’s State Park Police responded to a report of a suspected drowning of the boy in Ramapo State Forest, said Caryn Shinske, a department spokeswoman.

The victim, who was not identified, was found in Ramapo Lake at 1:02 p.m. and pronounced dead at the scene, she said…
