NEWARK, N.J. — Newark police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man caught on camera stealing $10,000 worth of construction tools from an electronics company early Sunday morning.
The burglary happened around 4:30 a.m. on June 29 at a building under construction on Commerce Street, between Broad and Mulberry streets. According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the suspect accessed the site from the Raymond Boulevard side of the property.
Surveillance footage shows the man taking drills, saws, and battery chargers left at the worksite by El Roi Electronic, a Bound Brook-based company, two days earlier. The stolen tools were loaded into an orange shopping cart before the suspect headed westbound on Raymond Boulevard toward Military Park.
Police described the suspect as a man with a medium-brown complexion. He was seen wearing a white face mask, a black hat and shirt, a green traffic vest, dark blue jeans, and black sneakers…
