Wanted man shot during N.J. standoff identified, charged with attempted murder, investigators say

Investigators have identified the man shot by police during a standoff in Newark earlier this week and announced the charges he is facing.

Shaquan Landrum, 34, of Hillside, was charged attempted murder, attempt to cause serious bodily injury with a deadly weapon, possession of an assault firearm, possession of a privately made firearm without a serial number (commonly referred to as a ghost gun), endangering the welfare of a child, and other offenses, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office announced Friday evening.

On Monday afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Service were in the city assisting Newark police officers with executing an arrest warrant for Landrum, who was wanted for attempted murder and other criminal charges out of Hillside in Union County, the office said…
