NYPD bolsters security for the 43rd Annual National Dominican Day Parade

NEW YORK (PIX11) — The vibrant colors, music, and culture of the Dominican Republic will fill Sixth Avenue tomorrow for the 43rd Annual National Dominican Day Parade, and city officials are making sure the celebration is both joyful and safe.

On the eve of the big day, parade organizers and the NYPD have been working around the clock, locking in final details for what’s expected to be one of the largest turnouts in recent years.

“The NYPD has been preparing for this event for months,” said NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch during a news briefing. “We’re taking every precaution to make sure the event remains safe, respectful, and orderly from start to finish, and that enforcement won’t end when the parade does.”
