Suspect killed in shootout with Jersey City police after officers say he opened fire

A man shot by police in Jersey City has died after officials say he opened fire on officers.

According to Mayor Steve Fulop, officers observed a person acting suspiciously with a bulge in their clothing on Bergen Avenue around 1 a.m.

Last night, there was an officer-involved shooting near Ege Avenue and Bergen Avenue. Please stay clear of the area due to ongoing investigation
