At 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, Jersey City police responded after a car crashed into a tree on Old Bergen Road and Meritt Street and found Devon Reid, a 39-year-old Elizabeth resident, unresponsive and with a gunshot wound to the neck, Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said.
Reid was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, Mello said.
