Shehila Stephens and Juanita Morse held their smiling 1-year-old daughter’s hand as they exited a Union County courtroom Thursday, moments after a judge finalized the toddler’s adoption.
The Elizabeth couple, who fostered 14 children over the past three years, was one of three families completing an adoption during the county’s annual adoption day ceremony.
