Shopper threw tantrum, stole groceries after becoming frustrated with N.J. supermarket self-checkout

Police are searching for a shopper who threw a tantrum and stole items after becoming aggravated over a supermarket’s self-checkout.

The incident happened at Acme Supermarket on Valley Road in Montclair on Dec. 9, township police said in a weekly police blotter release.

After becoming increasingly frustrated at the self-checkout, the man punched a computer monitor at the customer service desk, knocked over a display of gift cards and Red Bull cans and shoved a beverage refrigerator, police said…
