NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — A man is facing charges after allegedly stealing $272,000 from a woman he met on Bumble in what prosecutors are calling a “romance scam.”
Brandon Dae Up Kiehm, 45, is accused of taking funds from his girlfriend that were intended to be used to purchase a home together, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced on Thursday. It comes after Kiehm was previously sentenced for stealing from at least two other women in similar incidents using Tinder in 2016.

According to court documents, Kiehm allegedly met the 44-year-old woman on Bumble in 2019 under the name “Dae Up Lee Kiehm.” The pair began what the woman believed to be a serious relationship and lived together in her apartment until 2021.
Prosecutors say Kiehm told the woman he attended an action for a Brooklyn home in February 2020 and that they were the second-highest bidders. He asked his then-girlfriend to send a check of $78,250 to someone she thought was the broker, and later two more wire transfers totaling $193,750 to purchase the house…
