NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — While Dasher, Prancer, Vixen and Blitzen weren’t popular baby names in New York City last year, the list changed quite a bit for the first time in nearly a decade.
As 2026 approaches, the New York City Health Department released the top baby names of 2024 on Monday. Names that held the top spot for boys and girls since 2016 were dethroned.

Top baby names in NYC for 2024
For girls, Mia took the No. 1 spot in 2024. Since 2017, Emma had been the top choice for parents naming their baby girls. As for the boys, Noah ascended to the top of the list, rising above Liam, which held pole position since 2016.
