The family of a 2-year-old who fell from a high-rise apartment in Newark is suing the building’s owner.
The lawsuit states the child fell from a window on the 20th floor of Elizabeth Towers early in the morning on Nov. 15. The child died from the fall. The child’s mother was inside the apartment at the time.
The suit claims the windows were made of plastic glass and lacked required window guards, even though children under 10 lived in the unit. It also alleges the installation of the plastic glass was a “cheap patchwork job” to save money…
