NEW YORK CITY (WRGB) — Governor Kathy Hochul highlighted part of her 2027 budget proposals in New York City on Thursday. The proposal cracks down on the high costs of vehicle insurance rates, as well as fraudulent vehicle insurance claims.
The governor places the blame at the feet of fraudsters and legal loopholes and says her budget will put a stronger emphasis on prosecuting insurance fraud and expanding criminal liability for anyone involved.
