NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Over a dozen cream cheese flavors have been recalled across multiple boroughs in New York City due to a health risk, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The company, Made Fresh Salads, Inc. of Bay Shore, has recalled 14 flavors of its cream cheese products due to possible Listeria contamination. The products were distributed in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan under the Made Fresh Salads label.

Health officials warn that Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. It can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women as well as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea in typically healthy individuals.
The following recalled flavors were distributed in 5-pound white plastic tubs with an expiration of Feb. 27.
