NEWARK, New Jersey (PIX11) — A vehicle crashed into a firetruck responding to an early morning house fire in Newark, New Jersey, according to authorities.
Four people, including a child, were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation from a fire at 17 Dover St. around 4:49 a.m. on Saturday, city officials said. A total of 18 people, including five children, were displaced as a result of the incident.
While firefighters were responding to the incident, a private vehicle struck a fire engine at the intersection of South 17th Street and Avon Avenue around 5:06 a.m., police reported.
