Newark mayor brings his son to ‘No Kings’ protest. ‘This is what power looks like.’

Chants of “no more kings” echoed through downtown Newark as more than 700 people carrying black-and-white placards and handmade signs filled the plaza at the Lincoln Statue on Springfield Avenue.

The crowd gathered Saturday for a “No Kings” rally and march, according to protest organizer Larry Adams.

“We wanted to stand with the 9 million like-minded outraged folks across the country,” said Adams, 72, a retired postal worker who lives in Montclair. “We’re fed up with Trump’s immoral and illegal wars on Iran and Venezuela; threats on Cuba; wrecking the economy for working people and trashing our democratic rights.”…
