An international tea company is putting down roots in New Jersey. The Collective Brew opened in late March of 2026, bringing a taste of Nepal to Jersey City. About Nepal Tea Collective

The Collective Brew serves coffee and organic loose-leaf tea from Nepal Tea Collective. Nishchal Banskota started building the tea company back in 2016, aiming to create a better tea and a better experience for tea farmers.

The tea products are all organic, and the company works directly with farmers across the world. As of 2026, Nepal Tea Collective works with over 1,800 farmers across 19 different farms. 1% of all sales goes directly back to the farmers sourcing the tea leaves.

Nishchal tells HG the company runs seven tea bars in Nepal with another three currently under construction. Now the Jersey City location is their first cafe in the United States.

About The Collective Brew

The Collective Brew held its grand opening in late March 2026. The menu focuses on Nepali tea, but also includes coffee, matcha, chai, juice, and healthy sodas. The kitchen serves momo, a Nepalese dumpling filled with meat, veggies, and spices. It brings a little taste of Nepal to Jersey City. If you order a blended tea, the team whips it together fresh and then cans it right in front of you, ready to sip on the go. HG Pro Tip: Order the Purple Haze for a refreshing lavender tea.

While many people often head to bars for happy hours, the cafe plans on holding “sober hours.” From 4PM to 7PM on certain days, customers can find deals on blended tea drinks, crafted from organic teas and other fresh ingredients. The owners want to create a comfy environment for people to gather outside of work without alcohol. The cafe also serves coffee, sparkling teas, and kombuchas, as well as some pastries and other light bites…
