Feds detain man accused of hitting passenger with hammer on an NJ Transit train

Federal authorities detained a man on Thursday who is accused of assaulting another passenger with a hammer on an NJ Transit train.

Anthony Robinson, 29, was apprehended by U.S. Marshals on Thursday at the Booker T. Washington housing projects in Jersey City, the agency said in a statement. The NJ Transit Police have charged Robinson with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Robinson is accused of hitting a man with hammer on board a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail train at the Martin Luther King Drive station. He quickly fled the scene following the attack, which caused serious injuries to the victim, authorities said…
