Hakim White, 18, and two 17-year-old juveniles were charged with burglary, theft of moveable property, and criminal mischief, Closter Police Capt. Vincent Aiello said in a release on Friday, April 3.
Two homes were targeted in one incident, where three suspects attempted to pry open a rear first-floor window to steal a high-end vehicle, police said. The attempt was interrupted by a homeowner, and the suspects fled. The same group then entered a second home through a first-floor window, ransacked the kitchen, and located keys to a high-end vehicle parked in the driveway, Aiello said said.
As the suspects fled, they were spotted by Patrolman Jorge Vela, police said. During a pursuit, the suspects drove over a front lawn and struck Vela’s patrol vehicle before continuing to flee. Investigators later linked the group to another burglary in Closter’s East Hill section, where three suspects entered through a first-floor rear door, ransacked the foyer, found car keys, and stole a vehicle, according to Aiello…
