A chaotic shooting unfolded in Harlem on Friday evening, leaving a suspected gunman injured and another victim seriously hurt after gunfire erupted in a busy intersection. The incident, which also involved New York Police Department officers and a second unidentified shooter, is now under active investigation.
According to the New York Police Department, the shooting occurred just before 6:30 p.m. near West 125th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, an area typically filled with pedestrians and local businesses.
What Happened
Police say 32-year-old Randy Negron approached a 22-year-old man who was sitting outside a convenience store and opened fire at close range. The victim was struck multiple times, triggering panic in the area.
