NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — An 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a shooting on Teardrop Lane that killed one man and injured another, according to the Newport News Police Department.

Edward Maurice Barcus was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and other weapons offenses.
On July 17, officers responded to the 0 block of Teardrop Lane in reference to a report of a shooting at approximately 8:50 p.m. When officers arrived, they located two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
