YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY)– A man has been arrested following a burglary in York County early Tuesday morning.
Deputies were called to the Auto Zone, in the 5700 block of George Washington Memorial Highway, at 3:30 a.m. in reference to that burglary. When deputies arrived on scene, they found a masked male suspect in dark clothing.
Officials say the suspect attempted to flee from the rear of the business but was later apprehended. Deputies found a 45-caliber semi-automatic pistol in his pants pocket and various tools in his backpack.
As a result, the suspect, 20-year-old Chaunci Kanye Jonson, was arrested. He faces the following charges:
- Possession of Burglary Tools
- Wearing a Mask in Public
- Resisting Arrest
- Carry a Concealed Weapon
He is being held at Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail…
