Norfolk Public Schools to provide free meals to students for 2026-2027 school year

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — On Aug. 19, Norfolk Public Schools announced its policy for providing free meals to students for the 2026-2027 school year, according to a press release.

Under the Health, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. the school district’s students will be given a nutritious meal for breakfast and lunch during each school day at no cost to the household.

The school district has confirmed that households aren’t required to submit a meal application form. A letter to households is located under the 2026-2027 Community Eligibility tabhere
