NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Curtis A. Robertson, 39, was sentenced to 12 years and three months in prison after robbing a bank in Newport News.
On Oct. 25, Robertson entered the Truist Bank, on Denbigh Boulevard, with a newspaper in his hand. Robertson approached a bank teller and placed the newspaper, which was partially concealing a firearm, on the counter. The barrel of the firearm was visible to and pointed at the teller.
Robertson then passed the teller a note demanding money in which, the teller complied. He then fled the bank with the stolen money and left the note behind.
