HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Three people were displaced after a dryer fire on Newport News Avenue in Hampton Wednesday afternoon, according to the Hampton Division of Fire & Rescue.
On Sept. 9 at around 2:26 p.m., Hampton Public Safety Communications received a call for a dryer on fire inside a residence in the 400 block of Newport News Avenue. The division’s units were dispatched and arrived to the scene at around 2:30 p.m.
Units found a dryer fire on the second floor of a two-story house, marking the fire as a working incident. Crews then started a search and fire attack, knocked the fire down at around 2:38 p.m., and marked it out at around 2:50 p.m.
All residents evacuated the house, and there were no injuries due to the fire. One adult and two children were displaced. The American Red Cross is assisting them…
