The weekend was a little active at times. We did get some much-needed rainfall, but we also had one isolated tornado. The EF-0 was in Surry county near Spring Grove on Saturday. There were no other severe warnings (that I’m aware of) that day, but there were a few flash flood warnings. The rain added up to almost an inch and a half in some locations. There were some places that had a tenth of an inch or less.
My family and I snuck in a dolphin tour in Virginia Beach. Plus we had dinner at the oceanfront. We did get wet as we walked around for a bit, but dinner and the tour were fine.
Today we may have some isolated rain showers as a cold front sinks through the region.
The chance for rain is low. However, the chance to dry things out is 100%. As the front sinks south the wind will pick up out of the north/northeast. Winds will gust up to 25ph.
This will sink the humidity quickly. Dew points will drop from the 70s to the low 60s today.
As you can see the dry air will stick around for a few days.
Temps will be capped in the low-mid 80s this afternoon, but a few spots inland and south may still hit the upper 80s.
Temps will be nice over the next 3-4 days. Highs will be near 80 or in the low 80s. We may even be in the upper 70s tomorrow.
We will warm up by the end of the week. We aren’t expecting any rain for a while. There will be some low-end rain chances by next wekend…
