HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation will implement overnight full closures of King Street at the I-64 overpass to complete milling and paving operations.
Closures will start as early as Sept. 17 and will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. as part of the larger Hampton Roads Express Lanes (HREL) Hampton Segment 4C project.
Work segment 4C will convert the three existing lanes into an Express Lane, a part-time Express Lane, and two general-purpose lanes in each direction. The project will widen I-64, repave the existing lanes, and add an additional 12-foot-wide travel lane in each direction…
