HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — In many neighborhoods throughout Hampton Roads, for sale signs are popping up in the front yards of houses.
Home buyers, sellers and real estate agents are looking to move in and out of houses, but as we enter the last quarter of this year’s sales, many are wondering if it is a good time to sell or buy.
“August was the first month in this whole year where we’ve seen activity actually go down year-over-year,” said Sajel Naik, deputy chief economist with Virginia Realtors, an organization that predicts the economic and housing forecast for Virginia. “In Virginia, we have been in a seller’s market for pretty much the better part of the last decade, and we were sort of moving more towards a balanced market category, which is not yet a buyer’s market, but not just a seller’s market either, more towards a balanced market territory in a lot of the local counties and cities within Virginia.”…
