RICHMOND, VA — Flags of the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia will fly at half-staff on state and local government buildings and grounds on Thursday, October 22, 2026, in memory of U.S. Army Maj. Bianca C. Wilkerson of Norfolk.
Gov. Abigail Spanberger issued the order Wednesday, October 21. Flags are to be lowered at sunrise Thursday and remain at half-staff until sunset.
Wilkerson graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk and earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Virginia Commonwealth University.
