Co-defendants plead guilty to armed robbery at Norfolk game store

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A 25-year-old man pleaded guilty to an armed robbery on Tuesday after he and a co-defendant robbed the clerks at a Norfolk Video Game Heaven last year.

Occurring on the night of Aug. 22, 2023, Jayvon Antonio Bell and Eddie Roschelle King browsed the video game store on Colonial Avenue until the remaining customers exited. Once the other customers left, King pointed a handgun at the cashier and demanded all the cash from the register while Bell stole several video games and demanded game console controllers.

Leaving with a bag of cash and merchandise, the two men got into a minivan and fled the scene.

The co-defendants were involved in another robbery within hours of the Video Game Heaven incident. Chesapeake Police informed Norfolk Police investigators of individuals with the same physical descriptions and minivan committing a robbery in Chesapeake. Norfolk investigators utilized the Flock license plate recognition system to confirm the minivan had been driven in the locations of the robberies.
