Naval Weapons Station Yorktown to implement 2FA in 2025

YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) – Starting in the new year, two-factor authentication (2FA) will be required for access at parts of Naval Weapons Station Yorktown.

On Jan. 1, 2025, 2FA will be needed to access the pedestrian turnstiles and the automated vehicle gate at Gate 1. Information on where to receive your 2FA pin can be found below:

  • Active duty and DOD civilians
    • 2FA pin can be received from the ID card lab
    • The 2FA pin is the same code used to access your NMCI computer
  • DBIDS card holders, retired military and dependents
    • 2FA pin can be received from the Visitor Control Center

To contact the Visitor Control Center, call 757-887-7339 Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m. To contact the ID card lab, call 757-887-7702 or 757-887-7706 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
