NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The RnB Block Party is back again to ring in the New Year.
Thousands of music lovers are invited to the Norfolk Scope Arena Dec. 31st starting at 7:30 p.m. to listen to some of your favorite R&B songs with DJ Flood, Sony the Goat and Bink the Humble Monsta. Local entertainers Izzy the Dj and DJ Dirty Di will be in the VIP lounge area. To participate, you have to be 21 years of age or older.
Grammy award winning producer Bryan-Michael Cox will close out the night with a balloon drop, confetti and a complementary champagne toast.
10 On Your Side spoke to Antonio Dowe, one of the co-founders of the event, who says he is excited to close out the year with another concert-like party.
“Bryan-Michael Cox has so many Grammys, to think that he’s going to spend his New Year’s Eve with us when he could be anywhere in the world is just insane,” Dowe says. “It actually feels like good closure to the year! I’m looking forward to the feeling of the successes that we’ve had this year, the ups and downs. It does feel like the right kind of closure to do it on New Year’s. Last year, we weren’t able to actually play New Years.”
