As we enter spring, we unfortunately have to say farewell to some of our favorite restaurants and breweries. Here are 11 Northern Virginia restaurants that have closed over the last few months.
Bartaco
Arlington foodies will need to find a new spot to fill up on tacos. After four years, the Ballston Quarter Bartaco has permanently closed, according to ARL Now. The Reston and Mosaic District locations remain open. 4238 Wilson Blvd., Arlington
Frito Chicken
This fast-casual spot has served its last chicken meal. The restaurant was open for seven years, serving up rotisserie chicken and chicken tenders, before posting a closing sign on the door, according to The Burn. 44650 Waxpool Rd., Ste. 100, Ashburn
Mae’s Market and Cafe Alexandria
The closing of Virginia’s Darling also means Mae’s Market and Cafe has closed. Inside the market, you could find a large selection of pastries, breakfast and lunch options, and house beverages. Customers can still find fresh pastries at the cafe’s Arlington location. 277 S. Washington St., Alexandria
Old Ox Brewery
You still have one more week to grab a drink at this Ashburn brewery. Old Ox is closing after members of its leadership team decided to retire while others wanted to pursue opportunities outside of brewing. The brewery’s final day open is April 5. 44652 Guilford Dr., Ashburn
On the Border
Just over a month after the Reston location closed, the franchise announced it was set to close 76 locations across the nation after filing for bankruptcy. This announcement added its Woodbridge location to the list of closures, which was the chain’s final Northern Virginia location. 11880 Spectrum Center, Reston; 2651 Prince William Pkwy., Woodbridge
Osteria da Nino
This restaurant is closing after it was unable to work a deal to extend its current lease and find a new location. During its 10 years in business, Osteria da Nino was named to Northern Virginia Magazine’s 2021 list of Best Italian Dishes in Northern Virginia for its osso buco. The Italian restaurant’s last day of service will be April 20. 2900 S. Quincy St., Arlington
Red Apron Butcher
Fairfax locals are on the lookout for a new butcher after the closure of this Mosaic District shop. The butcher has since been replaced by HiFi Tex Mex BBQ, which is also operated by the Neighborhood Restaurant Group. 8298 Glass Alley, Ste. 110, Fairfax
Saigon Cafe
Back in January, this Sterling eatery closed suddenly. According to The Burn, a sign on the restaurant door stated, “lease default.” 20921 Davenport Dr., Sterling
Tin Cannon Brewing Co.
All good things must come to an end. After more than 10 years serving the community, the owners of this Gainesville brewery are calling it quits. Stop by this Friday or Saturday to enjoy one last pint. 7679 Limestone Dr., Ste. 130, Gainesville
Uno Pizzeria & Grill
The deep-dish pizza spot is now down to one Northern Virginia location after closing its Merrifield location in February. Uno fans will now need to drive to Kingstowne Center to grab a Chicago-style slice. 3058 Gatehouse Plz., Merrifield
Virginia’s Darling
This Old Town Alexandria restaurant closed just two months after being named to Northern Virginia Magazine’s 50 Best Restaurant list for the second year in a row. The America-style eatery was unable to reach a new lease agreement, according to ALX Now. 277 S. Washington St., Alexandria…
