NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Department of Transportation is implementing long-term lane closures on I-64 in Newport News beginning Monday through early 2026.
Single-lane closures will be in place at the J. Clyde Morris Boulevard overpass by exit 258 and near Hampton Roads Center Parkway as a part of the Hampton Roads Express Lanes project.
One inside lane in each direction will be closed, reducing four lanes to three. There will also be overnight ramp closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. at both interchanges during setup.
Drivers are advised to slow down in work zones, avoid distractions behind the wheel and watch for lane shifts, message boards and signs…
